Cheryl Paulson

Cheryl Paulson

Cheryl was lucky to find yoga years ago in the midst of health struggles, such as asthma and thyroid disease. She trained extensively under Paula (Padmasri) Tepedino and received her certification in Hatha Yoga. She has gone on to bring her training to the Advanced Professional Level (500-hour), furthering her studies in meditation, posture adjustments, restorative yoga, senior yoga, Sanskrit, sound and hands-on healing. Her style is eclectic, with influences in the Kripalu, Vinyasa and Iyengar traditions. She is the head asana instructor for the 200-hour In-depth Study & Yoga Teacher Training Program at BRC. Cheryl has taught both privately and professionally in studios, universities, corporate centers, senior homes, churches, schools and gyms and is thrilled to have “Breathing Room!” She enjoys watching the many remarkable ways in which her students grow from the practice and is honored to guide them along the way.

Ieva Alverson

Ieva Alverson

“Be the change you’d like to see in the world” ~ Gandhi This quote drives me to reach deep inside and remember who I am and was my first inspiration toward personal transformation back in 1996. I became serious about yoga in 1999 when given a choice between taking medication for medical issues or healing on my own through daily yoga. I made a personal commitment to heal through yoga. In 2005 I completed a course called “The Course” in metaphysical mentoring with Michael Cavallaro, author of The 55 Concepts, A Guide to Conscious Living. The concept of the universe and universes beyond made me realize that I am a part of something amazing! I realized how grateful I am to be human and living life on this magnificent planet Earth. I offer my time to serve people through yoga. My yoga teacher certification was completed with Paula Tepedino and Cheryl Paulson at Breathing Room  in 2012. The yoga teacher training course has given form to my metaphysical ideas and transformation. I am becoming the change I’d like to see in the world and do it in respect to the universe. My time is also spent working in Blairstown as a teacher at the Ridge and Valley Charter School, where the earth and the universe are our textbooks! My family and I live on the Paulinskill Lake. I bring my heart’s wisdom to my yoga practice. Email Ieva at i_alverson@yahoo.com.

Just recently she completed a 200hr YTT program with teachers Paula Mari Tepedino and Cheryl Paulson at the Breathing Room Center. Her studies and certifications in holistic health also include massage therapy, reflexology, natural childbirth (doula), and whole foods cooking. Kelly currently lives in Newton, NJ. Ron Madeo

Ron Madeo

I’m Ronald and I have been practicing yoga for the past 2 years. It has helped me relax, make peace with myself, and further my spiritual experience in this wild ride of life. Yoga and meditation have made such a profound impact on my life and I decided to share it with the world.  I embarked on my 200 hour yoga teacher training with the Chakra Flow Yoga School in October of 2013 and graduated in June of 2014. I’m not the perfect student and I’m far from the perfect teacher but I’m young, determined, and my intentions are pure. I will continue practicing and continue working towards being a great teacher. I love all living beings and feel it is my universal duty to show as many people as possible the benefits of yoga and meditation. Contact me at ronaldmadeo@gmail.com or 908-763-0696.

Jen Hagerman

Jen Hagerman

My Yoga journey started 15 years ago with dipping my toes into the water of truth. Since I was a little girl I have had the heart of a servant; always wanting to lend a helping hand. It shouldn’t be a surprise that following high school I attended the local votech to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Having worked in the nursing field for almost 20 years made me realize that I was not happy with the Western view of healthcare. Being an empath didn’t make matters any better either. Following my heart and my own need to heal myself from the inside out…I decided to take the Yoga teacher training course at Breathing Room Center in 2012. Cheryl Paulson and Paula Tepedino showed me a new way of thinking and being, through Yoga philosophy. Here I am today, not a perfect human being, but one that has much gratitude towards the healing power of Yoga. I would love to share with you the many tools that I have learned through my training and just help you to love yourself unconditionally. You can contact me at jennluvbearcat@gmail.com or check out my new blog @Mindfuljen.com.

Elizabeth Stroppa

Elizabeth Stroppa

I began to explore yoga over 15 years ago, with a home practice guided by DVD’s. Working long hours as a Corporate Retail Executive left me little time to focus on my health and wellbeing. I was extremely STRESSED and burdened with health issues, my new role as a single mom of two children and a demanding career. I was desperately seeking a way to restore peace, improve my health and find balance in my life. My yoga practice was the answer I had been searching for. The shift happened very gradually, my physical conditions began to improve and I began to look at my life in a whole new way. I slowly evolved from a high-strung Type A personality to a relaxed, open-minded and more patient person. This transformation led to what I call “take two” of my life. I remarried and was blessed with two more children. I said good-bye to my corporate life and chose to be at home to raise my 4 children and help my husband start our family business. Having been so inspired by my personal journey and influenced by several amazing teachers along the way, I felt drawn to take a deeper dive into a 200hr-Hatha Yoga study at the Breathing Room Center under the guidance of Cheryl Paulson and Paula Tepedino. In December of 2013, I became a certified 200 RYT instructor. Sharing this amazing gift of yoga and assisting students to tune into their natural state of being, the state of peace and equanimity brings me great joy.
